A Dolls House Tour of Småland by Linda Bancroft, with help from Elisabeth Lantz and photos from Sieglinde Nedomansky

In a hot week in July 2014, Elisabeth from Sweden, Sieglinde from Vienna, and me, Linda from England went on a wonderful dolls house tour of Småland, Sweden.

The first call on route to our cottage was at Ingegerd's museum and private collection.  She has a delightful collection of dolls houses and miniatures, all immaculately displayed.

After an overnight stop we then visited Christine.  Her museum in a lovely rural location, has houses from different countries and eras.

Yes, she has a Stockbroker and a Gee Bee bungalow!

We then went to the Micki Leksaker headquarters and museum.

Note the large version of the Lundby wall picture hanging in the foyer.

We also visited the Gemla museum.

The child's shop, middle bottom of the photo below, I could happily have brought home.

Next stop the Lundby outlet store.  Talk about kids in a sweetshop!  We all bought lots of Lundby at really good prices.

Our tour guide and local resident Peter has an amazing Lundby collection, and he is so well organised.

He graciously provided a picnic each day too, what a true gentleman.

Our traditional Swedish cottage had an amazing original tiled fire in one of the bedrooms.

We would like to thank Ingegerd, Christine, the staff at Micki Leksaker and Peter for their hospitality.

Småland is definitely worth a visit and they have fleamarkets everywhere!
