About Me

Based in the UK in Kent I am an artist working in assemblage using mixed media and collage. My current work is related to Surrealism and the idea of making art in a box-like environment. I freqquently incorporate references from dolls' houses, or use actual houses in my art works, mixing objects from social history and contemporary culture with prints and photographic images. Exploring concepts such as remembrance, superstition, and popular psychology my work is experimental and can be interepreted in different ways by the viewer. I also write exhibition reviews and articles about anything related to dolls' houses, as well as collecting and restoring 20th century houses, especially interesting "scratch built" examples.

Hi Heather, my old boy Ramah was an absolute star and never even so much as looked at the house. Willow did knock over the Lundby, not long after we had her, but no further incidents. But Claudia is a whole different ball game, ah the joys of parenthood lol.

Hi Heather...My poor old house is still waiting for attention as I'm working on another project or two at the moment, I will get to it eventually though. I picked this one up cheaply..it needed rescuing .

Hello Heather..Palamacy Dolls House club meets in Dover ..normally the last Saturday of the month...we always do a workshop...meeting is from 10am-4pm...
We pay yearly subs of 40...then all workshops are free and all kits are free with the exception of the yearly doll making workshop. We also go on trips...this year we have been to Kensington Dolls House festival...also Germany for the Soest Fair...and in October we will go as usual to the Arnhem Fair...which like Soest is in a new venue....
Dolls House Club members cover the whole spectrum...we have some who collect Antique and Vintage...some collect Modern and some collect both.. Finally we always welcome new members...hope all this helps...Lyn.

Hi Heather,I'm sorry I forgot to get back to you.I saw Charmaine and she said the stairs were wooden and the wood effect on the front was printed on paper and stuck on.The age of the house is likely to be 70s or a bit later.

I am a printmaker and have used my houses in various paintings and illustrations in the past. I remember that Whiteread installation, it was amazing.

Are there any other artists working with dolls house concepts out here? I would love to hear from you!
