About Me

I have four grown-up children and a bossy but sweet cat, Tuppence. Oh, and a long-suffering husband who doesn`t complain [much!] when the dining table is covered with tools and bits of wood... I have loved dollshouses since the age of three when a neighbour showed me a beautiful thatched cottage. [`Look, but don`t touch!]  When my eldest two children were small I bought them a Lundby Stockholm [then called De Luxe] and a Caroline`s Home and furnished them, during the 80s, until Lundby became unobtainable in this country in 1986. When they grew up they let me have the houses as `Mum`s Hobby`.I bought a few non-Lundby things in the no-Lundby years but since finding Ebay my collecting has taken off and, thanks to buying house parts [ thank you, Stella and Steph, especially] I am now renovating and building the extentions for the Lundby house that I always wanted to do. I hope I wont offend `proper` Lundby collectors, with the non-Lundby things in my houses, if I put on photos. I love Lundby but sometimes see other things I really want to add, such as  cranberry glasswear in 16th scale.   Joy.[Tuppenceallen on Ebay.]

Hi Joy
do you know Alnwick, we live 2 miles from the centre. Where do you go to when you come up is it our coastline or Hexham side of Northumberland :)

Thank you for your interesting comments on my 1940's house Joy. I can't remember where I got the chicken wire from, it's plastic but looks the part. I found it in my box of possibly useful in the future bits, I might have taken it off something or found it somewhere. I never throw anything away that might come in handy. Lol

Hello, I don't know if you are still looking for parts but there is what looks like a Lundby house in bits on ebay at the min to be sold as parts.

Hello Colleen,
There is a good group called Lundby Lovers. There is also Lundby-Dollshouse-Hobby, though some of that is in Nordic languages. You will find people from here in both groups. If you need help to find them or join, let me know.

Hi Joy Merry Christmas from Canada.
I was going to suggest you join the We Love
Lundby Club. I see you have Julie as a friend.
You should watch her blog at the club site.
Membership is only 15 dollars US online
Then you could ask Lundby members to keep a look out for you. I would love to be a friend but not sure how to work this site.
Colleen in Canada. You can see my Queen's silver Jubilee living room set on her site.

Hello Joy, I think they were mostly made in Chesham Bucks by the Amersham (Toy) Works Ltd and I have not been to the toy museum in Amersham but I know it is in the high street and by all accounts they now have more Amersham toys on display so I hope to visit it soon. I know what you mean about the cat photo.......I can only get the small picture as well!

Sorry Joy just worked out how to use the comments! The cats were sent to me by a friend as they resembled the 2 cats I had at the time.............the ginger one did actually have the same expression as the picture!!

Hi Joy. Sorry no room for a drawbridge. The gothic castle is almost 65 inches wide and I have a basement to go underneath as well if I ever complete it. Have added some more pictures of the internals.
I also noticed your comment about lighting the lundby. The lights are tempermental. I have the house and 6 levels and I run 4 transformers off this. Some rooms are bright and some are dim. I do tend to jiggle the wires a lot. You cannot light every single socket in the house with one transformer. Well I cant anyway. Hope this helps

Hi Joy Thank for e-mail. I retired here 10 yrs ago, very nice place. I have never been in the sea here though, only a very small beach. I have an allotment which keeps me busy a lot during the summer, I hope to start a regency house during the winter months and eventually do a wedding shop, I am not a vintage person though, but love furnishing dolls houses. bye for now Pam

Hi Joy, I'm very new to the club and must get round to putting a profile of myself . My name is Wendy. It looks such a good friendly club. This morning I'm going along to join a little craft club for the first time they meet up once a week. I'm feeling a bit nervous. I understand they do all sorts so hope there will be someone who will be able to help me try and make miniatures for my dolls houses I have never made furniture before so I will have to see how it goes. Welcome, Joy! Glad to see you've joined. I hope you'll post photos of your Stockholm extension so others can admire your phenomenal work like I do!
