About Me

It was my daughter that really got me started in dolls houses she asked me if she was too old for a dolls house at the time she was 37yrs.  I brought her one. The difference this hobby has made.  With her full time stressful job so when she comes home only has to open a door of one of her now several dolls houses and she feels the stress of the day going.  Since then I have started this hobby and I too have several houses and shops.  My daughter living quite a distance away unfortunately we don't get to see eachother much but having our dolls houses we spend lots of time on telephone and email sharing our ideas etc this really has brought us closer together and we love it.  I'm also lucky that my husband takes an interest in our hobby and enjoys doing the things we cannot manage like the electrics and wallpapering, he now wants to try thatching a dolls house I brought to try and do up only thing is our REAL  house needs renovation.

hi wendy, i noticed that you are thinking about thatching a dolls house. i have one that i think would look good thatched, so i've been doing a little research to see what will look authentic.i think i've settled on coconut fibre.i also like the look of coir matting, but i think that will be difficult to work with. just a few ideas, let me know how you go... cheers

Hi Wendy, I do hope you enjoyed the craft club and were made to feel at home. The good thing about dolls` houses is that there is always something you can make. Try Fimo food. It doesn`t dry out until it is cooked so you can have lots of goes at it until it looks right. Good luck.
