Dolls' Houses Past & Present

About Me

Hi there everyone, Kitty here from the Netherlands. I am a young woman of 59, married, with two adult daugters.
As a little girl I had a dollhouse that my grandfather made for me. When we moved to another city, my mother decided to not take the house to our new home. Recently she appologized to me about it. Anyway, that probably is the reason why I always kept a soft spot for dollhouses. I purchased a selfbuild 1:12 from the internet in November 2016 that I'm turning into a modern nautic house. Then I bought a 1:16 Hanse house with the intention to pimp it but haven't done anything with yet. And last week I stumbled across this gorgeous house on a secondhand Dutch side that I just had to have. I love the way it was build. And eventhough it looked neglected and parts were missing I made an offer. I am kind of handy so a missing pergola isn't an issue. It turned out to be a Gottschalk house! The one from 1961 with the butterfly roof! The previous owner had no clue, neither did I btw before I did my research, so I didn't pay much for it. Yesterday (April 29 2017) it arrived. And that is when I decided to join this group of expertise. I want to restore the house that has been mistreated and painted in different colors but I can use some help and advise to do it right

Oh Hi Kitty sorry misunderstanding, was saying the wallpaper was in same poor condition and not the exact same paper, my fault not explaining clearly. Had problems getting onto the site today.

I'm enjoying looking at all your hard work, Kitty. It's amazing to see it all being done from the start, your choices of wallpaper are very good and it was cool to see that you actually sold it. I absolutely loved your use of the word 'fugly' and I may use it in future...
