About Me

Boarding school, art school (St Martin's), advertising agencies Notleys & J.Walter Thompson, then freelance & PR for Steiner hairdressers. This experience helped when I had to promote my new shop The Dolls House from 1971 onwards - magazine & newspaper write-ups, TV interviews! You can't call selling dolls houses work!

Mine was the first specialist dolls house shop in UK, opening in Marylebone, moving to Covent Garden 1980-95, then to Northleach in the Cotswolds to the shop attached to my 17th century stone cottage. When in Covent Garden I was very lucky to stay in Faith Eaton's house, and met many interesting people visiting her collection. I have 20 antique houses in my own collection, seven in my sitting room. I have resist keeping some of my stock! I have to keep my naughty ShihTzu away from the mini furniture which he loves to chew.

I've written three books for Batsford  - 'Build.., 'Furnish..., 'Decorate a Doll's House'.
