About Me

I'm a miniature maniac and freelance feature writer and columnist for Dolls' House and Miniature Scene Magazine. I have lots of dolls' houses, none of them complete and far more not yet started. They include an Anglesey Victoria House (ready-built when bought but little progress since then); an Anglesey shop and flat above (near completion); a cheap MDF shop and flat above (partially complete); a Barbara's Mouldings All Saints Church (just started building the kit); several DHE houses (Mountford, shop/house in American style, beach house, Gathouse kit (not built yet) ... you get the picture. A starter but not a finisher. Just not enough hours in the day.

hi moi, welcome.. i think you made a comment on my profile, i'm sorry, i can't see it. i'm not sure if is the site playing up again or what... i've had a look through my messages as well, nothing there.. it sounds like you are the same as many of us on here, we all love to get stuck in and start new projects, but they are never-endingin both ways. i get so much pleasure from collecting and restoring and building, that time flies.. you are right, not enough hours in the day.. :)

Thanks for your reply, Moi. I admire Jan's approach but I too have a huge list of projects on the go all at once. It can feel daunting at times but on the other hand I like that I can choose to do whatever I feel like doing on any particular day and sometimes a break from a project results in new ideas. It is very satisfying to finish something though... at least I imagine it is!! (I'm assuming it is Site Owner, Rebecca who you will be talking to about Hobbies houses. She is very knowledgable on the subject.)

Welcome to the site Moi, find its better to finish one before buying another. Do buy another if just waiting for parts on one but if I have too much waiting for attention, tend to leave it all so have to be strict about it. Hope you enjoy being a member.

Hi Moi, welcome to the site. I subscribe to DH&MS and regularly read and enjoy your contributions. I do wish the magazine had a better mix of old and new though - Jane Kubiesa's excellent article 'Create a Pet Shop Scene' in the latest issue did this beautifully. I hope you enjoy this site, I love it, it's a very friendly and informative place.

Welcome Moi from a fellow miniature 'maniac' and although I'm pretty new in here myself and completely new the the 'forum' concept I think I'm just about starting to get the hang of it.......a lot of really nice people on to talk with.
