Dolls' Houses Past & Present

About Me

I am a 54 year old who has just (yesterday) bought my first dolls house, well two actually, couldn't decide between them. I have two grown-up children and one grandchild and three cats. My husband always has "projects" in progress and now its my turn!

Hi Kim thanks for your comment about the sofa in my Enid Blyton House, just had a look at the photo of your sofa, yes they look the same don't they? Although yours looks to have been made by some one with more sawing skill!! I have a matching chair too like the 2 you also have in the same room, a tallish round table came with my set too. Yes I think they are from handicrafts patterns. I like them in dolls' houses but they don't look very comfy do they!

Hi Kim, have been trying to send message through friends system for some reason it's not happening. wanted to say the stockbroker is a sturdy looking house it's sometimes difficult to find the right colours especially if there's no trace of it left to match. I took notes from other restoration jobs and tried the different colours recommended.

Hi Kim, it is working from one profile to another, it was just the comment on the album I couldn't reply. I could have just left it as a comment but then you wouldn't have known that I answered your question!
Lovely day here, hope it is for you too.

Why does the reply button never work for you? I was trying to reply to your query about getting the paper off.So far we have only been playing about with it.The piece on the side of the house just pulled off in one go! The roof we dampened it slightly and picked it off with our fingers, we might have a gentle go with a small scraper when we get stuck in properly. I'm sure there is info in early issues of the on line magazine, it is always worth a trawl through the archives.

Hi Kim, sorry I meant to reply to your question about the metal fireplace in my 62, a few days ago but it slipped my mind. Sorry I don't know the maker, I've not been collecting for long. It's a lovely piece I think there is something quite special about metal fireplaces, much nicer than the plaster ones.

I hit the reply button to answer your questions but for some reason it didn't work. If you look at your comments you will find the answers. Sorry I'm not very chatty today, I think I have flu!

welcome. Hope you manage to up-load your photos, it isn't difficult once you have practiced it a few times. The FAQ guide on the left will help you. If you get stuck, there's always someone who will advise if you need it!
