About Me

Hi, I live on the edge of the beautiful Stafordshire Moorlands.

I have always enjoyed all art, crafts, gardening, baking and knitting. I love looking at things from a bygone era. I have a passion for dogs and I walk other dogs as well as my own as there is a rescue center virtualy next door!

I love looking at other peoples houses and creativity on this website. I think i have viewed every album in the gallery!

Hi Patty, Thank you for your Kind Comment on my Halfway house. As you have gathered I'm new here and still trying to find my way around but I will look at your photos but may take me a while as there are quite a few. Noticed you are from Staffordshire, I always go to the Stafford DH Fair.

Hi jane, the gloss on my house was quite thick, i scraped and peeled it off fairly easily, so that was lucky. the roof was harder and more stubborn. I had 2 nice brown windows and the other windows had already been overpainted white, so i took the paint off those and repainted them brown to match the other two. If you really want original green windows, just be very, very patient and some will come along!

Hi Patty, sorry haven't been on the site a while as working full time now so busy! I have seen your lovely triang 61 on e bay, very tempted but too gar away! I also have a 61 covered in gloss paint. Could I ask you how you removed it from yours without damaging the original paint. Mine needs quite a bit of work including new windows. Is it best to just get any colour and paint as can't seem to get green ones. Any advice gratefully received! Still can't post pictures at the moment. Thanks Jane

Hi Patty, I have been collecting sea glass for a few years. One day I am going to find something to make with it. It looks lovely when the tide is going out but quickly dries to a matt finish. I used two triangular pieces as book ends on the white dresser (which is now sprayed black) in my 12th scale house.

Think mine's a 65. Yes think I will strip the front and get new transfers. Will leave the sides as moulded brick. Will post a pic when I can but can't upload from my phone! Thanks Jane

Glad you like your items, Jane. Yes, our houses are different but I THINK they are both 62's, we will have to ask Julie Hardy to clarify! i will do it tomorrow.

your transfers will come off when you strip the paint off but there is a seller on Ebay that does repro replacement ones, I was going to either try them or do some hand painting on the front, haven't decided yet!

Hi Patty,
I tried to accept your friend request, thank you, only iPad was going wrong and was unable to send a message to you.

Also I am unable to,post a profile photo on this iPad, hope to sort this out soon, having bought a laptop now it's just a case of finding another broadband provider.

My TriAng 60 photos should be on my home page and Alexandra Lodge will be in mystery houses,

When a friend request is sent it's passed on to me by Rebecca, don't know if this is usual or because of the problems with the iPad.

Sorry about this Patty, I also had a friend request from Kim last month and was unable to reply.

Hi I've looked at the lady on the indoor market, but her stuff is generally too big for my house. I based the scale on the height of the doors, but think from what Rebecca said it's not 1:20th probably nearer to 1:18th or 1:16th. Really struggling with buying extra furniture, bit of trial and error. Some pieces come at 1:16th and fit fine others are advertised as that but are too big. I, like you, enjoy crafty things. I do tapestry and cross stitch and have made everything from cushions to curtains down the years. I'm really enjoying repainting the windows on the dolls house. I'm thrilled that I finally found someone with the same house as mine and will enjoy looking at how you restore yours.

Hi, We are virtually neighbours I'm at Leek! I did know it was Hobbies, Rebecca identified mine and my Father remembered that's where we went to get it. It was built for me when I was 4. Down the years it's been played with by my sister and then various nephews. Mine was on the brink of being thrown out but I said I'd have it and like you have now been bitten by the bug, The box in the loft was for the battery, I think my wiring was pretty well gone, I've just taken it all out and am going to redo it.

Hi Patty,

It does work well using the adhesive carpet, then you end up with a reversible rug, for if you want a change

Thanks .Patty, was not sure how to furnish just two rooms and not clutter it too much,it's more a matter of what looks. Reasonable I suppose, if any changes in layout will send photos

Patty, I looked up Harriscards on line and they seem to be just a wholesaler. I looked on ebay, where I got mine but there were none. If you send me your address in a private message you are welcome to one of mine! I even trawled Amazon...so don't waste too much time looking!

Hi Patty,

Thank you for your welcome and lovely comments.
I'm hoping to get some more photos up soon. I love so many styles and eras of interior design and having dolls houses means I get to decorate in ways I can't do in real life!

It's nice to find a site with like minded people and with so much information. I'm really enjoying looking at all the photos, very inspiring!
