Lots of layers
I am not relishing the idea of stripping this trim. I believe the original color was green.

Really like your house and in this condition it will be fun restoring it and will look fabulous.

Lots of work ahead. Have you checked to see if the internal walls were stripped before painted or if there is anything underneath?

Sadly all the papers were stripped. I did find some old discolored paper still stuck between the walls and pulled them out with tweezers but they were not very revealing. I have learned from some knowledgeable dealers who have owned or sold these types of houses that they were papered with full size (people scale) wallpapers. One dealer has also shared with me that the original paper pattern was very simple, more like dashed lines and that they were pastels. I am not a huge fan of pastels so I will use period papers but with probably more color and pattern than might have originally been used.
