Greconsfield green belt is breached.
I bought this house off an 83 year old lady who had been its only owner. Her family lived in Scotland and her father had had to go to London to work and came home with "the most wonderful presents." This was her favourite and she had kept it all her life. Her neighbour had advertised it for her, and she had been more interested in finding a good home for it than the best price. When she saw me at her neighbors house loading the house into my car, she ran out in her nightdress with bare feet for one last look.

It found a good home, one of my favourites.

Awwww. It's beautiful. If I had been her, I couldn't have parted with it, I'd probably have demanded my ashes be kept in an urn on the mantelpiece, lol. I love these big Art Deco beauties.

No, the curtains aren't original, but the wires are.

Are the curtains original? I see that there are some in the suntrap too. I would have been crying my eyes out on the drive if it had been mine for all my life.

That's a very good question. So far, the houses I've had with rusty windows have been overpainted, these haven't. Those, I took back to are metal and repainted. I'll have to put some thought to these.

Will you do any restorative work on the windows? If so, I would be very interested to see how you do it.
I bought one recently with similar windows. I have just wiped with WD40 for now.

In bare feet? Beautifull house that 'holds' in excess of 70+ years of the lady's life. Wonderful!
