Smart Simon and his sister, saved from a skip in Harrogate some years ago, so the story goes.
Simon is an adventurer, capable and kind but sometimes his male intuition is not as powerful as it might be. Monica is a calm, practical and sensible girl, good to have in an emergency, of which there can be quite a lot .

They are such smart pack members! I bet they were in that skip looking for items to recycle. Just 'doing their duty to God and the Qyeen,' as required by their scouting/guiding promise, back in the 50s. Do scouts and guides still have to swear that when they join?

Their house and their moving in is August Tale 21. August Holidays. The house came as a stripped out case that June all the way from Kent so the refugees had a home of their own at last!

So I was told by the seller. An old house in a terrace very near where I used to live, was being cleared and these were in the skip outside. They are a lovely family - their return to live in Greconville is recorded in the tales - with a party and chocolate for the children, all overcome by being released from the dark attic where they had been for many years. It's right at the end of Tale 11 and eventually they get a lovely no.10 to live in. I will have to look up which Tale that is.

Were they really found on a skip?
