Upon returning to the house, she folded her coat neatly on the chair and observed her aunt and Oriel.
The feather boa was present and Gladys was being very attentive to Oriel's needs.Caroline noted the thick coating of dust upon the sideboard and wondered some more. "I have a surprise for you, Auntie" she said. "I'm not really sure if it is a nice surprise or a very nasty one" "Don't talk in riddles, girl" said Oriel testily, reaching for the bottle of Jack Daniels. "Well, it's just that I have seen my brother Cedric here, in the village, today!" Gladys didn't look best pleased. One relative was quite enough for her, however was she going to cope - just when she and Oriel were getting along so well together. "I'm sure that Cedric is quite old enough to look after himself," she said crisply,"but I suppose that we had better ask him round for tea one day".

Hang on, Jeanette! We have Oriel, old raunchy Californian gent, we have Mrs Wings, a resuscitated Mrs Wings, from drab to foxy and we have Caroline of the fabulous coat and father in jail. Yes, it is a bit complicated but don't you feel Caroline might be a tad too fat for E.G where Oriel could look quite haunted and saintly but not in Caroline's coat!!!

Many of the treasures of the real world are to be found in Greconville. They are notorious as "Borrowers" That may not have been the original that you saw, Jeanette...
and as for genuine looking dust...we all know that Grecons avoid doing any housework if they cam possibly get out of it - even if they are hired as housekeepers.

I took my eyes off that coat for just one second to gaze on the da vinci...I stood in front of this beautiful painting of girl with an ermine when we visited Krakow Castle. I thought it was far lovelier than the mona lisa. I agree with Jan , it's a lovely room...and coat.
