Later in the day they had a peep at the presents under the Christmas tree. What was that big present on the side?

Until 1964, when we had just moved into a new house, Father Christmas left stockings and presents in our bedroom. We really did wake at 4am to open everything! Once in the new house, all the presents were under the tree - that move coincided with the two of us having sussed that Father Christmas was really Mum and Dad. We never had stockings from then on.

Those dogs are very well mannered - and very good actors. They look so politely interested!

What? They haven't torn them open yet. I do like the wallpapers and the contrast they make with framed photos too - all very lovely
