Staircase
I had to do some work on this house as I found woodworm in the roof, so took out the stairs. They are a real botch job! The main upright flight is in one piece with an extra step added, then there is a hodge potch of steps after the angle, ending in two ugly square pieces of wood.

I was thinking of putting roof beams in the downstairs room, that would provide support for an oblong of card to drop into the hole, then cover the upstairs floor with card which has some kind of floor covering on. Your suggestion is a very good one if I decide beams won't work.

Definitely not. In fact, I might block up the hole and do away with stairs

To avoid materially altering the house, I didn't block up the stairwell hole in my GeeBee - I simply disguised it by laying thin card flooring over it on top, and covering it with ceiling paper underneath. I just have to remember not to put anything heavy on the covered gap upstairs - although the card supports wooden furniture without a problem.

I will. I certainly won't use them in another house, they're far too ugly!

Please keep them, labelled, them for posterity, Val, because they ARE identical to those in another Rab Toys' "Ruskin Grange" series house!

[I removed the stairs from my little GeeBee to make more room for furniture, and I am (heretically, I know!) considering removing the stairs from the hall in the 81 wing of Ketterley, to make room for a scullery, because i would still like to put a gas cooker in the kitchen, as well as the range...].

Not worth the keeping?
