I had noticed her look of admiration. I wonder if he will manage to get the bedspread laundry money out of Dave.

If he does, I think he's definitely in with a chance there!

For much of the 20th century, the minimum height for male police officers in the UK was 5' 8" (1.72 m), but several forces (such as the City of London Police) chose not to appoint any man under 6' (1.83 m). Latterly, minimum heights came to be viewed as discriminatory and were no longer allowed.

"The [current] shortest officer in the UK, PC Sue Day of Wiltshire Police, is 4 feet 10 inches (147 cm) tall. The tallest is PC Anthony Wallyn of the Metropolitan Police who is 7 feet 2 inches (218 cm) tall. Both officers had to have their uniforms specially made for them due to their size." [Source: Wikipedia. Accessed 20/12/2017]

I'm guessing that Archie is about 5" tall (without his helmet), so scales up to around 6' 8" (2.03 m) in 1:16, or a lofty 7' 6" (2.27 m) in 1:18.

Archie may have "noticed" Rachel Havant, but could Michelle be making sheep's eyes at his back, here?

You had to be fairly tall to join the police force years ago.

Greconville is so lacking in morals and manners, a giant Policeman is the only way to attempt to control the behaviour of the inhabitants. He was also the only Grecon Policeman who has been available to the village and they have got used to his great height over the years.
And of course his helmet adds further impressive inches.
