She did miss them a great deal, but life at home as Basil's wife, was a suffocating affair.
A doll, a rabbit, a golly and a bear came out of the packages - the children giving out cries of delight as each one was revealed. Thankfully, the nannies were out on the green, watching the Maypole dancing so Suzannah had a little time to be alone with them and get to know them again. All too soon, Basil would expect her downstairs for dinner. At least he would not question her as to her recent activities, his years in the service had made him discreet about such matters. She sighed - perhaps she should not have married him, but he had rather swept her off her feet, after she found that she andThomas had so little in common. At least there were plenty of dogs in Foxes Fynde although she knew that Marianne had lots of pets of every kind in The Towers now that Tilly and Toby were there. Thomas had certainly changed since Marianne had insisted that they adopt the Sweetpea pair!

The gifts are fab! Were they KB purchases?

Suzanna should bear in mind that half the animals in Sir T's household were stuffed and mounted on the walls.

That carpet is gorgeous.

Fairy pipecleaners, Edel! They are so tiny. And yes, Brooksey, the carpet is real and utterly fabulous. I can hardly believe that people can make these beautiful and minute things, so very skilled. I am far too clumsy to create such fine things.

Beautiful toys for the children and what a gorgeous carpet - that one's not paper!

Lovely stories, beautifully photographed, as usual. Thank you, Rosemary. I enjoy all the comments too.

Ohh, wonderful! Are they made of pipecleaners?
