She pulls out the cutlery box and prepares to lay the table.
As she goes about her work, she is lost in her thoughts. She is hoping that the village will not expand any more: strict immigration controls are in place because it is true that the population has expanded dramatically since last year. It had begun with the sudden appearance of Norah, followed by some inexplicable events that had reached a climax with the discovery of the tinies, enslaved by the evil Mr Trumpington. The place is now full-to-bursting with well-wrapped figures, the primary school benches are groaning under the weight of too-many-tinies! "Enough is Enough!" said Mrs Gulliver, "There are not enough available beds to go round - and the situation is made even worse by the bathrooms being monopolised by people wearing pyjamas and dressing gowns - never mind the beds!" Lindsay hoped that the ban would not include horses, you could never have too many horses. in her opinion. And in this wish she was not disappointed. A new stable had arrived and three more horses, but perhaps two of them were too big for the girls to ride safely.
