New tea-things
My granny had one of these cottage tea-pots, I suppose they are really kitschy but I rather like them. I'd never get away with one in our human house...

More is the pity! Handing items down would have much less to do with fashion and value it they did!

Absolutely!

...Probably all the grown-ups found it too "tasteless" when granny's things were being divided up - and nobody asks a ten-year-old if she wants her granny's tea-pot!

My gran had one of these too, though it was in her collection of 'novelty' tea pots rather than everyday use. I loved that collection when I was a child.

I don't remember my granny's pot ever being used either, Zoe. It was in a china cabinet in the sitting-room with other "good" china, very colourful late 1930s things. My mother has some of them now but the cottage pot has vanished. Probably all the grown-ups found it too "tasteless" when granny's things were being divided up - and nobody asks a ten-year-old if she wants her granny's tea-pot!

That's one of the BIG advantages of being a miniaturist - we can indulge ourselves in all sorts of ways that wouldn't be possible in real life!

The teapot is adorable!

I love your tea pot. I was given a tiny tea pot for my birthday. It is 10cm high and has teddy bears picnic for the lid.

That sounds very sweet Katie!
