Exasperated by Marianne's constant entertaining, Sir Thomas was about to go to his club in London,( and also have a good look at the Dolls' House exhibition at Bethnal Green before it closed) when he was surprised to see a shaggy stranger on the doorstep, "There's a hole in his jersey" Thomas thought,"and he looks as if he needs a good wash."Aloud, he said "Tradesman's entrance is at the back, my good man"

Oh dear. I know there is a dark cloud over Sir Thomas' past business dealings but I'm still not sure he deserves Marianne. He'd best hurry and secure his 'line' before she either elopes or a cuckoo arrives in his nest.
