One dark and dingy storage space
with easy access battery driven light. Bit desperate as lighting goes but the tea light has now got a use and I do feel better for it.

Aha - things best kept in the dark. Or more likely similar raggedy bundles as those brought in by the guy sitting down below with various bundles at his feet

It looks great! Wouldn't anyone going up there take a lamp up with them? So it would be lit if someone was there, but otherwise not? Although I'm sure there'd be other reasons for having a light shining from a high window - to light travellers home, for example ...

The light for the wayward traveller? I hadn't thought of that. I'd ear-marked one of these candle lamps for up there, but when I put it in place you couldn't even see the lamp, hence the fire hazard of a lit lamp and apparently no one around

great idea using something not quite "right" and making it look great! i'll try to remember this when i'm ready for lighting in the castle (and maybe the Hedgehog cabin) thanks!

Like it! How do those tea lights turn on and off?

Just saw the switch in a different photo!

I agree with Julie, it must cast a good glow when on and it adds to the atmosphere

I think it's an ingenious solution, Do! I'm sure it looks very convincing when viewed for real.

It's so dark in there it adds a bit of much needed colour if nothing else ;)
