The van Eyck Arnolfini bedroom scene
I decided to use this painting as a starter and try to copy some aspects like the colouring etc with what I could get hold of or make. The 1616 inhabitants are an older couple than in the painting.

I can only say thank you all round. My favourite bit after or prob equal to fiddling with the mirror is the carpet. In the painting you can only see a little and I had great fun getting what I could from the portrait and trying to extrapolate a complete pattern from it that was clear enough and square enough to print. It took forever to square up from the perspective shape, I can tell you

I first saw this painting, reproduced in an encyclopaedia, when I was about seven years old. I've loved it ever since.

You've captured the room so well, infill! I agree with Judy about the mirror, and the furniture is beautiful.

I checked out the painting. Your mirror is a triumph.
