The stairs
The stairs do come out, so it will be easy to do something with them, I have thought of just painting the centre of them?? :)

Thank you for your thoughts Patty, now that the room has been papered I seem to think it looks quite big, maybe its just me.

I think this room would look good with a dividing wall, and it would give some support to the first floor too.

Keeping the original look is a great idea Jan, I do have my work cut out but looking forward to every minute of it, I shall keep you posted with some photo's as I go along.

I did think about keeping the red on the stairs, the green at the sides are a bit scuffed so maybe I could paint just the sides, again I also think keeping the downstairs wallpaper would be a good idea. I can't wait to show you some photo's as I go along with my project, I feel quite excited Rebecca. :)

We do tend to keep the houses in original condition although my Triang 60 I changed the inside by wallpapering on card and placing it over the original, I also put carpet over the original floor paper but it can all be removed, might take it all out and go back to the original one day, but that's how I want it for now.

Have you decided on the wallpapers yet? I think the red paper on the stairs is probably original, so could be worth keeping - either if it goes with your wallpapers, or by putting staircarpet over it, which might preserve it underneath. Being able to take the stairs out will make the wallpapering a lot easier, too!
