Please see the caption to picture 2, previously, for the history of the model number. The house shown here dates to 1970. This particular house is one of the very last No 50s produced. It can be dated specifically from the brick and tile transfers on the front, and the red roof (green roofs were used in 1971 and 1972). The front door on the house shown here is a replacement from Hobby's. The original would have been plastic - probably red - in the same style as the yellow one on the house in picture 6, previously. The owner says, "I am told this house is unusual in that it has brick paper decorating the bay front. These papers are definitely original as the flower transfers are superimposed. Amazingly the roof is damage-free. I am told these red roof houses were made in [the former Tri-ang factory in] Merthyr Tydfil, [South Wales, UK], about 1970 by Walter Lines [trading as Good Wood Toys], after he retired from Tri-ang. I believe these houses were left plain white inside to inspire the owners to personalise them." (This photo copyright: Judy C). A photo of the interior of this house has not been included in this Album. Apart from some very minor details, the layout remained the same throughout this model's long Tri-ang production run and was unchanged by the two subsequent manufacturers. Please see the previous picture for a view of a typical No 50 interior. More photos of the house shown here may be seen in the Album ""Laburnum House" ?
