Don't be fooled!
This old girl arrived safely this morning. So well packed by its seller. From looking at photo's on this site I think it looks very much like one in the Dolly Mixture gallery. Can anyone explain what a Dolly Mixture is? This little house is tiny 15 1/2 inches high, 28 inches wide including the garage, 13 inches deep. The windows that are left look original and are peacock blue. Does that help to date it? I have already tried scraping some of the white paint away and there seems to be a honey coloured paint underneath, with some climbing plants up the walls.

Pretty little house and I love getting them in this condition because you can really make them your own

Nearly missed these photos! This IS very like my Dolly Mixture, which I love.

I'm very jealous, Carol - I love these little houses.

I made up my mind just yesterday that I want one of these double-fronted Dolly Mixtures to make into a B & B - a holiday destination for Margaret, Stephen and their twins. Margaret is too posh to go to a holiday camp! Although I'm still officially on a spending embargo, I have bought those grandparent dolls from Rosemary, and a too-good-to-miss Dol-Toi bedside cabinet from eBay, in the last few days. I'm "sort of" actively looking for a house like this now...

Carol, a Dolly Mixture house looks very like a known make of house ie. a Triang, but isn't. No-one has yet been able to identify the makers of these "copies" but they are adorable just the same!

Wow Carol. This is a project to get your teeth into, but I think it will be lovely when you are done. It does have great potential.
