Hi Patty. The doll is based on quite an old design, but so tricky to make, and very delicate. I also have an "antique" one which is barely 1/2" tall.
I have just re-read this post I made, and am concerned that it might look as if I am claiming to have made the jointed wooden doll, which of course I did NOT, it being one of Eric Horne's brilliant creations.
Lupin reminds me about the story of the doll that got dropped into a supermarket freezer chest with the peas before she was rescued and put to work as a maid, but I can't remember her name. (Help please!!)

When i was young i kept borrowing a book from the library called 'five Dolls in a House' by Helen Clare, when my daughter was little i managed to find a very old copy of the book in a junk shop. The wooden doll on the bed reminds me of 'Lupin' one of the characters that i loved.

Thank you for all the nice comments Lallyp and Julie H. How very observant you are Julie!! The mattress I made was a little large for this bed, and I was disappointed with the (?original?) that arrived with the Barton Tudor 4 poster, so I swapped them over. They both fit their current beds better I think.
Maybe I should move the cats down stairs again - the side of the red seating is rather a large expanse and could with a bit of camouflage.
The row of people and amber fox at the back came from Krakow.

Beautiful rug and super tiny toys!

I see that the cute cats have moved up from downstairs and you have replaced the earlier mattress!
