Sweets ! Only one of these would have been the treat for the weekend, apart from the fruit jellies, which we only ever had at Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed. Most sweets were either packed straight into their boxes, or in waxed paper bags inside the box. Bournville chocolate was my favourite and felt like the poshest of treats to me, to this day I still prefer dark chocolate to milk of white, although that being said, just give me chocolate and I'm putty in your hands ! Ha Ha..

Yup, I have had an unopened bottle of Pernod for years, in the cupboard but I used to love it and drink it in The French in Soho with Bohos!

Rosemary, you have had such an intriguing life! I am in awe of the variety of interesting places you have lived and the people you have met. I on the other hand, got drunk (as Johnny quite rightly would have it!) in Lloret de Mar! (Though I was Interrailing around Europe at the time which sound slightly better, I think!)

The Allsorts that are my favourites are the blue or pink rounds with little balls on them!

I got very ill on Pernod once as a teenager and haven't been able to bear even a whiff of aniseed since so those ones ore my least favourite which is great for my OH as he loves them. My favourite is the round coconut one, any colour. Oh, I feel a packet of Liquorice Allsorts. coming on, wish I had your metabolism Johnny!

Excellent period sweets!

I used to love dark chocolate, too, as a child.

These are great miniatures. I love how this house is taking you (and us!) on a trip down memory lane.

You are like my partner then he's a chocoholic but never gains weight, those Liquorice Allsorts look good enough to eat, a good selection.
