My miniature holiday camp is a fictitious addition to the Warner's chain, supposedly situated just outside Brighton on the English south coast. Warner's camps were much smaller than the vast Butlin's ones. Although nominally one of Warner's, in creating the miniature I have used ideas from all the three main holiday camp companies who were operating in 1965 - Butlin's, Pontin's and Warner's. There were also a number of independent operators who each owned and managed one or two small camps.

My mother and I went to a small independent holiday camp at Freshwater, on the Isle of Wight once, when I was eight, (pre-1965!) It was small and peaceful - not at all like Butlins!

It sounds delightful!
