Behind the counter
The incomplete Spot-On Hoovermatic twin tub washing-machine converted readily to a 1960s ice cream freezer, with the addition of two cardboard lids! I made the ice cream cone holder from wire (the cones are by eBay seller julieshandcraftedshop). The water boiler, by Sussex Crafts, was converted as a special order from their "Royal Geyser". I had two made - the other is in the cafeteria. Pewter teapot (Warwick Miniatures); box of 1960s Nescafe instant coffee single-cup sachets and large boxes of "Nice" ice cream cones in "glass" cabinet (Chris Shepherd (Shepherd Miniatures)).

I absolutely agree. It is too good to just keep to yourself and should end up in a museum of social history - seriously!

Julie, when this is finally finished, it should be in a Museum. It's an amazing- and so well-researched - a time-capsule of leisure time social history of half a century ago

Thank you very much, Rosemary. I'm left speechless!

Looks real ! Shepherd miniatures are just great aren't they..I have bought from them a few times too.

Chris Shepherd is in my Artisans Top Ten - I've bought dozens of packages fro her. Everything she does is absolutely true to (1:12) scale so it looks OK in 1:16. She's so helpful and obliging, too. More than once she's tracked down something obscure that I'd been looking for and made it up for me.
