What a cosy little sitting-room, in contrast to the larger, more formal one downstairs. A great use of this small space - love it! Boxing-in the stairs and adding the door is an excellent move.

We used to rent a holiday cottage in Snettisham, Norfolk and at the top of the stairs was just such a small sitting room with a bookcase filled with books and an easy chair. A quiet nook to sit on a cold or rainy day. We always went for the October half tem week and took the dog! The lady didn't allow small children but you could take more than one dog and cats if you liked!
