charity shop finds
I found these wee beauties yesterday, there was also a tiny vase but i forgot to put it in the pic. The brass and copper item (it looks a bit like some sort of incinerator) well i thought it could maybe pass as some kind of washer for the kitchen. However i showed it to my 80 year old neighbour who informed me its actually a poteen maker that they used to make their illegal hooch in lol. Anyway the scale is right so im gonna put it in the kitchen as you cant live in Ireland and not have a poteen maker lol

I got one of these poteen stills a few weeks ago from eBay. The seller there described it as "a stove". I got mine to use as a weight outside No 1 Brenville Cottages to keep the left hand door closed. Even though I now know what it is, thanks to you, Adele, I think it will pass as an old-fashioned garden incinerator. I'm painting mine, so it won't look brassy.

Aw I love the Peter Fagan cats Adele, I used to have a few when I was in my 20's. I've often thought of doing a mad cat lady house just full of these....Now I wonder if they are still in the attic hmmm

Lucky you Adele! Super!! I hardly ever find anything miniature in charity shops although I do buy mens silk ties with small patterns sometimes, when you unpick them there is enough fabric for making allsorts.

I think it is like a still christine though to be honest its a wicked drink, i had a bottle years ago that someone gave me and it was unoopened for 10 years. Anyway at the end of a drunken night out my friends persuaded me to open it, never again. I passed out for a rather long time and then was violently ill lol so the experience has never been repeated since
