Roof paper half stripped
I don't know what to do with it but whatever I do it will be a long time before I do it

Oh! I just posted that my house is identical and have now realised it isn't quite and I remember the reason why. Dad decided it would be more child friendly to have a removable front and that's what he made. I don't remember though if the plans gave the option or if Dad just made the modification. He also put in bannisters on the stairs and open bars on the landing but again I don't know if they were in the plans or his own modifications.

@ Patty: It's true - this is a "real" dolls house, just as yours are. I know most of mine started out as children's toys, too, but I can't help putting my adult, social historian stamp on them!

@Anthea: It has such good-sized rooms - so much easier for getting a hand in without knocking everything over in the process. It's nice that there's enough room in the hall and on the landing for a bit of furniture, too, without them being so big they waste precious space.

It is a lovely house, I know you will work your magic on it ilenalana. Remember all of these houses we do up are being saved for further generations to enjoy :-)

Thanks for your confidence in me Wendy I hope I can live up to it. One of the reasons I keep rescuing houses is because I feel it's a shame to see them fall by the wayside, Someone has loved them once and they need to be cherished again.

It's a similar layout to the Gee Bees house I am working on at the moment. Mines has 4 rooms but I had an idea to add a partition wall upstairs at the top of the stairs like this one. I'm nearly finished the kitchen (downstairs left). I'll post a photo.

When i think of a dolls house (a proper house for dollys) it's this type of house that springs to my mind first. It is similar to the one my dad made for me and it brings back memories of my friends and their houses when i was young. It is sort of my era. Out of all the houses you have shown us so far, this one is actualy my favourite.

Yes Patty I see what you mean, it is a dollies house.
