Showing the bottom half of the Schnegas hall stand on the half landing because it is too tall for the entrance hall.

Oh, I think I remember seeing it! I may even have bid on it - I did buy a couple of pieces of vintage upholstery fabric from Lizzie (sunshed) on ebay a few years ago. One is in my private detective's office, under a 1945 German deco cardboard set of desk, chairs, sliding cupboard etc - and the other is in my Triang 52 living room. They were great finds of hers - sometimes I look at the vintage fabric in the photos of her fair stands (on her Washerwoman blog), and try to spot more!!! (Haven't told her that!)

The carpet's vintage cut velvet upholstery material bought on ebay years ago from Sunshed. Just enough to do the parlour, hall, stairs and landing.
I think I should get a mirror for the hall to save all the running up and down - the carpet might wear out!

Great carpeting! And a good place for a mirror - they can do a quick check before they come down to meet visitors, or go out (though that means either keeping their hats and coats upstairs, or running up to the landing when they've put them on!)
