Although the April weather was unseasonably cold, the sun was shining so the four girls were preparing for a ride.
"I'll get the new hay bale out" called Amanda, as, with long blonde plaits swinging, she went into the hayloft. Meanwhile Andrea started checking her horse's tack making sure the buckles were done up securely. She didn't want to have an accident - Lindsay had spent quite a few days confined to bed a year or so ago, when she had had a fall.

I don't quite know why, but being outdoors seems to bring Grecons to life - but perhaps that is not the best comparison in this case!
