Whilst Grandpa Mills was vainly hoping for a sherry, cooking or worse, Oscar was exuberant in the lounge of The Non-Clock House.
He had finally found the right place for the delicious Gothic bookcase he had purchased on a whim recently. When it had arrived he had serious doubts as to where it could be placed to it's best advantage, and now here it was, simply perfect with the dark wallpaper. He patted a cushion fussily and asked Bryan what he thought.

Yes, there's probably enough room for a flat over the shop in Hill House. What a dilemma for poor Bryan! I think that he was most at home in Puggsley and Oscar likes it here, with Binkie upstairs. They seem to get on better if they keep their own establishments, so whilst they did a marvellous job renovating Merlyns, maybe that's the one they should let go?

To be honest, their property empire is becoming a bit of an embarrassment - with each house furnished in their own distinctive taste. Since the population of Greconville has expanded by quite a high percentage in the last 14 months, they are going to have to make some hard decisions.Bryan adores his oak and pewter filled kitchen in Puggsley house but he is also madly in love with the Inglenook fireplace room in Merlyns.....Oscar might manage to prise himself out of the Not Clock House, but Binkie is still the tenant of the attic flat. The upstairs of Hill House will have to be sacrificed to a new family - lets hope that they appreciate the simply gorgeous and luxurious bathroom!

No, this one is real stitching! It's strange what different tastes these two antique dealers have. Bryan is all dark Tudor discomfort and Oscar is Over-The-Top style. His rather baffling purchase of the very suburban beige upholstered sofa must be for it's extreme comfort - or it curly little bits! I imagine him more as a shocking pink chaise longe man - and indeed he had got one once, but naturally he flogged it to someone - and I can't remember which house that it ended up in.

Back in 2012, he was trying to sell it Kit, who has since moved on:

Everything is perfect in here! The colours are gorgeous. - and those lovely flatbacks complement the rug exactly.

(These two have quite the property empire, don't they? Have they sold or let any of their portfolio? They still use Hill House for their business, they seem to be living in both Merlyns and this one. What has happened to the No 5?).
