The console radio actully works, I can plug it into my i pod and play 1940's music, news broadcasts, Churchill speeches and even a air raid siren.

Oh my goodness - it really is a case of get the lights out and the blackout up - or the whole place may suffer a direct hit from above. It's lit up like a lighthouse - an easy target for the bombers.
