Bryan is looking rather guiltily at his latest bank statement.
6
Oscar has no idea how much Bryan is prepared to bid on an item if he loves it......
5
"Er, Oscar" he mumbled, waving vaguely at the old oak buffet that had appeared that very morning.
8
Steve Temple had just returned from buying some groceries from the Co-Op in the village.
6
She took a peek at her jaunty little hat in the hall mirror as she passed it.
5
Putting down the shopping, she took a quick peek into the kitchen. Yes, thank goodness, Paul had remembered to unload the dishwasher.
4
She found him, silhouetted against the light, staring thoughtfully out of the window.
2
After listening carefully to what Paul had to say, Steve got up and replaced her hat.
3
They both took off their hats and coats and prepared for bed.
9
Henry had gone to view his cabin cruiser "Redshank"
6
"Not quite up to the Niachos standard, old comrade" said Ivan puffing on one of his continual chain of cigarettes.
2
"Loo next to the bunks! Hardly what you would call a love nest!
1
However, he thought, looking at the hard and univiting bunks,

Leaving the boat and going down The Hard, they passed Pamela
4
Meanwhile over in France the lovely holiday had to finally come to an end. The weather had not been perfect
5
On that last day, they picked up their things and sadly left the beach.
5
The next morning, Norah confronted Steve and Paul in their kitchen.
15
That evening, over dinner, Paul made a comment that shocked Steve to the core.
12
The next morning, Norah was somewhat grumpily going about her many tasks.
4
"What's all this? Pure selfish extravagance, that's what it is!"
7
Bill, at no 12a was only too glad to show them the vast attic.
4
Sadly, there was not much there that was of the vintage for which the boys had become well-known for on the circuit
6
"Jolly good idea" said Bryan, putting his feet up for few minutes.
5
Two sheets to the wind they broached Basil in Foxes Fynde.
4
"Oh dear" thought Bryan," all a bit modern to me"
10
The next day, when Bill was passing through the hall, he had quite a shock!
5
"Too big for that bonnet now. You are a big Daddy's girl at long last"
3
Old Jim Decks, whilst admiring the useful chair he had manged to get kindly Bryan to give him,
6
Just then his ruminations were interrupted by Diccon clambering over the rocks towards him.
7
It was busy at the stables, the long summer holidays had just begun.
6
Lindsay and Amanda were first to leave, to gallop along the wonderful Winchelsea beach...
2
It was a glorious late July day as they galloped along by the sea wall
6
"I think we ought to turn back now and go and see Jim - he may be going out fishing later and take us with him"
1
"That lad of yours has just been by" said Jim amicably as they dismounted and tied up the ponies.
4
"Well, don't you go astartling him, for one"said Jim "otherwise he'll be down here a load sooner than he got up."
3
Diccon had gone from one rock to another, looking rather frightened, but help was at hand.
4
"Just don't move, Diccon" she said as she slowly approached him. Diccon was frozen with fear so couldn't have even moved his little finger at that point.
4
A sultry early August afternoon, with threatening grey clouds gathering over the Downs.
8
"Now tell me why you have called the new house Wildfell Hall?" enquired Vanessa.
8
Here she bent down to tickle the cat's tummy so did not notice the look on Bryan's face.
5
Later, in the still unfinished kitchen, they were argueing the merits of a name change when Charlotte dropped by with some leeks for them.
14
Vanessa had no time to consider suitable names for houses that evening.
7
A few minutes later, hearing sounds of merriment from the garden room, Vanessa discovered them all imbibing gin in one form or another.
7
Back at Puggsley House the dogs had just been fed - by Norah, who had also polished all Bryan's pewter collection.
7
Vanessa looked aghast at so many mouths to feed......and fetched a bowl of nuts hoping that might solve the situation.
5
Boris with the Morris Chair with Binkie sitting in it.
4
Duncan and Lionel must have past family history.
4
Saved by the Bells! Quentin and Angelica, utterly starving and hearing the din arising from the garden room, had sensibly taken it upon themselves to
