I can’t give a 100% guarantee of course, but barring any major unforeseen disasters, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t hit the 31st August deadline. Keep your fingers crossed and we’ll do everything we can from thIs end! :)

I just have to ask - did anyone on this site buy the big Lines/Triang 14 up for sale last week, with it's original papersin it?  The outside was lacking the shutters so looked a little "raw and newbuild" but could soon be put to rights.

Going in to hospital for a new hip next week. It would be lovely to come out and find it all up and running, what a boost that would be to my convalescence!

I hope all went well with your op. I had mine done 3 years ago and it has transformed my life!

Pretty well, thank you. The hip feels better than it has for years, though the leg is still quite swollen. It seems to be two steps forward and one back, but at least it's going in the right direction.

We are the lucky ones Liza, because we have your glorious books to loose ourselves in!

I hope progress is going on for you, and you will soon be back to full health at last. The news about the  possible launch date is wonderful - and a huge thank you to all of you who have put in so much effort to achieve it.

August 31st sounds brilliant....well done all.

I am following your progress with huge interest Liza - I am due to have two new knees in November.  I can no longer remember what it is like to walk without pain so it's brilliant to hear that you can already feel an improvement in the hip.

I have given up trying to update my signature. New post is up on Cestina's Dolls Houses:

I think I have been very lucky this time, in that I had a really good surgeon and he listened and was incredibly careful. Last time was a completely different kettle of fish. So hopefully yours will go as well as mine has (so far, touch wood). Must be hard to cope with two knees at the same time.

It's my choice to do both at once because there would have to be a year, rather than six months, between the two ops since I spend the summer in the Czech Republic.  I do not want to learn to rewalk with one good knee and one still bad, and then have to do it all over again a year later....apart from anything else that would be likely to compromise the proper healing of the first knee...

Good luck, let us know how you're getting on. When are you having it done, assuming it goes as scheduled?

Thanks Liza. If all goes well soon after I get back to the UK at the end of Oct/beginning Nov.  But who knows how the NHS will be at that point?

Wow! I just looked at our FundRazr page and a recent donation took us up to our £10,000 target!!!! HOW FANTASTIC IS THAT???

My meeting with Purple Creative Studios on Tuesday was really positive too and we really are in the final throes of development. Myself and the other Admins should be getting a live link to the new site very soon so that we can populate some of the pages with up-to-date information and, hopefuly then it really shouldn’t be too long before we’ll be ready to go! :-D

I've had to use this fundrazr link so many times Zoe thank you for it.

Just bringing this link forward.

I've been having a wonderful time over the last couple of months, starting at Page 1 of the Photo Gallery and looking through all the albums.  I've found this an excellent way to spend the time waiting for the new website.

It's especially good on the iPad that my daughter gave me as zooming in on photos is so quick and easy.

I hope your recovery is going well Liza.  My Mum had one hip and both shoulders replaced in 2015, NHS in the North West UK, and she is a new woman since.  I hope all goes well for you too Cestina.

Thank you, Michaela, I am doing well. It is such a novelty to be able to walk without pain that I am still surprised every day. So much better than last time. But I hope that we will be able to go on having our wonderful NHS, as I fear for it.

I do hope the new website is up and running soon, as people seem to have given up on this one.

I do now know who bought this lovely house and can assure everyone that it is in very safe hands.

Will the site really get going at the end of this month or are there more delays?

There will be another delay. In the last month or so, your administrators have been beset - sometimes unexpectedly - by our real lives impinging on the time we've had available to test the various parts of the new site. The developers have also had summer holidays and personnel changes, which have interrupted the work on their side.

This isn't to say that we have been idle! Zoe had a site meeting at Purple Creative Studios a week ago, and has another one today. She believes that there isn't a lot more to do on the actual development - as issues and glitches have been identified they have been remedied - so she's pushing PCS for a live launch by the end of September. She should have a further update for us after today's meeting. Once the site is in its final form, the admins will then need a few weeks to upload new content - making going live at the end of September a more realistic achievable target.
