Saw this in our local paper...couldn't resist having a peek on the website & as I haven't seen anything like this before, I thought I would share...

But too much detail and that would detract from contents. It is an art form in itself. No more adornment needed.

Amazing house. I see what Rosemary means about it being perfect in itself, but it might look good furnished with just a few very plain high-quality mid-19thC pieces.

I see its beauty of it as an ornamental piece, but would find it hard to furnish sympathetically and my houses have to be furnished. Still - that saves me several thousand pounds I don't have!

Goodness me, I love that sort of marquetry but that is a bit over the top even for me.   A little bit reminiscent of the https://media.vam.ac.uk/media/thira/collection_images/2007BP/2007BP9319.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">house in the Bethnal Green Museum that belonged to Queen Mary.

Oh flipping 'eck here we go with the links again.   Looks perfect in preview and pear-shaped when publishing.

Thank you for the link, one of the floor papers in the loft is very similar to one I uncovered in my old derelict house 'Keepers Cottage'
