I've re-posted photos of the Ketterley dressing table. My original photos, posted in January have disappeared! I discovered that they'd gone when I tried to find their URLs to give to someone who'd asked me for a photo of the dressing table. They were originally uploaded in January, when the turmoil onsite was at its worst, but I'm still shocked that they've vanished without trace! (This happened to a few photos of other members around that time, too).

I know that quite a lot of complimentary comments were left on these photos, when they were uploaded previously. Sadly, these have been lost too. Very annoying!

I've now discovered that topic headings don't like diacritics! I tried to type Not déja vu - and look what happened! Unfortunately, the heading can't be edited.

Brooksey, I think I can edit the topic title for you if you would like me to. Just say so and I will try it!

Thanks, Edel - please tidy it up, if you can.

Of course, I am much more concerned about the loss of the photos (and their attendant comments), than an odd-looking topic title...

You are absolutely right about the disappearing photos, Brooksey,  which is very worrying indeed.

Nevertheless, I have "tidied" the forum heading, which now appears at the top of the forum without the funny bits - and also minus its accent aigu, which webs cannot do in headers. In my experience it will take a few hours (or even a whole day) for the Recent Forum Posts to catch up with this change, so the funny title still appears there...

Wow, it's already appearing in its tidied form in the sidebar. Webs never ceases to amaze and surprise!

Along with your missing pictures, Brooksey, what else went? I often go deep into the old pictures to enjoy them again (and often see things in them that I missed first time around). There is nothing more annoying than when some pictures have been posted and then they are all removed, it is possible to spend valuable time searching - for nothing!

Things do seem to have disappeared.

I can't find the photos of the Merlin house that I bought after Rebecca brought it to our attention a little over a year ago. It is in storage but I wanted to look at the photos again a few days back, but I didn't keep copies and they don't appear to be here. Couldn't find it or the ones of our 2010 house either. Of course all this ight be my haphazard entry of photos into albums...........

I am very bad with on-line photo management. I tried so hard and new exactly how to store and share with Picassa - bought a new laptop a year or so ago and it was no longer available to download, so I lost all that wasn't on memory cards. I've tried other systems, but find it so hard to get my head round them, so i'm not great at contributing to any albus now   :(:/

That's very worrying indeed, Brooksey and I'm really sorry to hear that you, Jenni and perhaps others too have lost photos and comments.  I do hope that we will be able to sort something out soon so that the site will have a more stable future.
