Dolls' Houses Past & Present

A website and ezine about dolls' houses: antique, vintage and modern. Plus furniture and accessories.

Giveaway Competition for Members

If you enjoyed the profile of KT Miniatures on page 8 of this issue, you will want to enter this competition! Celia has very kindly donated two of her trademark KT Miniatures creations as the prize. They are 1/12th scale arrangements, handmade by Celia, of vintage style chocolate boxes filled with various items which have been given a heavily aged and well used appearance. All items are fixed apart from the blue floral chocolate box lid which is removable. These can be used in both vintage and modern reproduction dolls houses, in a variety of ways.

To enter the competition and have a chance to win these two chocolate box arrangements, just look through the pages of this issue of the magazine, and find which article each of these images appears in. Each one is a small part or detail from a photo in one of the articles. When you have found all of them, send me the page number or the name of the article for each one (eg Photo A is on page ..., or Photo B is in the article ....).

Entry is open to all members, new and old, whether you've won before or not!

All correct entries will be entered into the draw and a winner will be picked at random.

Entries must be received by the closing date of Sunday 19th January 2014.

Good luck!

Extra Offer!

Following the interest in the prize for the competition in the last issue - a voucher for wallpapers and borders from Poppet's Dolly Bits - Poppet will give a "buy 3 wallpapers get one free" offer to any member who goes onto her Facebook page and clicks on “Like this” up to January 14th.

Not everyone is or wishes to be on facebook (perhaps if you're not, you could put a voucher from Poppet's Dolly Bits on your Christmas wishlist). However, those members who are on facebook have another chance to get some of her lovely wallpapers!

Submission Guidelines

We're always happy to receive submissions at any time for our quarterly ezine (currently published in March, June, September and December each year).

Ideally, your submission will be in Word format, emailed to Rebecca at greenreb41 at hotmail dot com as an attachment. If you do not have access to Word we're also happy to receive your article in the body of your email.

If your submission includes photos the placement of the photos should be indicated within the submission like this:

This is an article about dolls houses or miniatures and here is a lovely photo to illustrate my point:

<Photo 1: Name of your photo>

Caption, if you're using one.

And then the article continues like this...

Photos should be about 500kb, if possible. Most photo editing software has an option to resize photos, but I can do this if you're not sure how to. I prefer to receive photos at higher resolution and larger size, than too small - it is easier to reduce the size than enlarge it, and it enables me to zoom in to details. Please send your photos as attachments, not embedded in your submission. Please ensure the names of your photos match the names you have provided in the body of your submission.
