About Me

I am a retired teacher, living with my husband and my very elderly mother on our little smallholding in Wales.

I have a collection of dolls and bears and, after many years of wondering if I could sneak a dollshouse in too, finally took the plunge! Now I have a little Dolly Mixture house, No 2, Dolly Mixture Lane (no. 1 turned out to be riddled with woodworm and mould) and have just bought a wonderful 1:12 to share with my mother.

Ps  I was asked about this - Trumble is my childhood bear and I took him everywhere so local shop keepers etc called me Trumble's Mum. The name stuck with me and, over 55 years later, I see no reason to give it up!

Hi Jenny, Many thanks for your warm welcome to this site. So sorry to hear of your health issues. I am sure that your hobby gives you some relief from it all. I will be posting pictures of my very first dollhouse on the Forum as I need some help and encouragement with it. I am starting from scratch
having to learn. to put on wallpaper, paint ,polish etc.But its exciting-something new and different.
Take care, Jenny and have a wonderful day,
Laurainne.PS My bears say "HI"

Hi, So glad to find a fellow bear collector on this site. i have a large collection of antique bears which I love dearly. Time now to find something new and I am looking forward to trying my hand at dollhouses. I love what I SEE just need a little courage now to really step out and DO.!!!

I too have a collection of dolls and also decided to get a dolls house. It is a Princess Elizabeth Cottage but sadly is showing woodworm. I have treated it and hopefully that should solve the problem.

i'm so glad you were able to save your Bears! i'd love to see their pictures. i know about those parents. my mother threw my old elephant away when i was 12, she just didn't want to wash him any more. just before my 15th b-day, i went to live with my father and she got angry and got rid of all the rest of my stuff, books, some antiques, collectibles. i love that your nickname was kept And your Bears!

Hi Jenny, sorry no there are no more pictures of the three bears house other than my profile picture at the moment, I will try and email a few to you as my intention was to do it at Christmas time, once I had finished the makeover. I'm not that disciplined I'm afraid and flit from one house to another, and hence I have several in a half done, or less state.
