About Me

I live in a 400 year old thatched cottage in rural Dorset, England. I have a Cavalier King Charles spaniel (my third) who I adore and a husband who comes a pretty close second!!! I've always loved dollshouses, one of my earliest memories is sitting in front of the fire on wet and windy days up in Yorkshire with "Listen with Mother" on the wireless and playing with the dollshouse that my father made for me. Bless him, he renovated it for my daughter and I hope to pass it on to my grand-daughter one day. I have made a first world war sweet shop and a second world war co-operative shop and both have models of my grandparents and parents which I copied from some old photographs, both men are in their wartime army uniforms, grand-dad was in the mounted artillery and dad in the eighth army. My husband started a large townhouse for me about 25 years ago when we returned from the States and I decided last year that I had waited too long for him to finish it so I set to and managed most of it myself.  I spent weeks putting those super Richard Stacey brick slips on the front and now I am really pleased with it. In addition to those houses I have a lovely roombox of an artists studio (complete with nude life model) which I inherited when a dear friend - Val - passed away.
