About Me

I have made and furnished 1/24th houses for some years but my husband came back from a bootsale with a lovely vintage little house which I absolutely love but am unable to identify its maker. I want to furnish it in the correct period so am learning quickly about the world of antique houses.

Hi Nicki, re your comment about my Hobbies House .My house is small scale 1:12. For once I have read the text properly that goes with the photo in Faith Eaton's book. She dates this house to 1926 approx, but states that originally the plans for it (from Hobbies in Dereham Norfolk) were for 1:24 scale and were enlarged to a size more suitable for a child. So this could mean your house is a particularly early one. The book in which this house features is "The Ultimate Dolls' House Book" printed by Dorling Kindersley, in 1994. It is a lovely book with clear photos and text. Look forward to photos of your house! Kind regards, Jenny x
