About Me

Hi I'm Anita. I am from Brighton originally but have lived in Essex for the last 20 years with my husband and we have two young girls.

I have always been fascinated by dolls houses. I didn't have a dolls house as a child, just some odd bits of Barton furniture and a few dolls, including some bedroom furniture and a Dol Toi cupboard with the pull out ironing board. These were passed on to a younger neighbour who probably did have a dolls house to put them in unlike me!

About 20 years ago I made myself a dolls house out of plywood which is still a work in progress. Then I discovered this site and became hooked on vintage dolls houses, particularly Triang, Gee Bee and Amersham. I bought a Triang 61 with the green window frames and it currently has some Dol Toi, Twiggs and Barton furniture in it. I eventually acquired another Dol Toi ironing board cupboard for it! I have a few Grecon inhabitants too...

I also loved Pedigree Sindy dolls as a child and have a few I have collected over the years, plus lots of Sindy furniture and accessories which my daughters now play with.

Hi Freda,
Thank you! I have been a fan of this site for ages, just finally got round to joining at last. I do enjoy reading the informative discussions, articles and Grecon adventures. I will try to get round to posting some photos of my dolls houses. Anita

Welcome and nice to meet you, Anita - I'm sure you will enjoy this site, as there are a lot of like-minded dolls' house enthusiasts. Your profile photo speaks for itself - a lovely house in what looks to be original condition.
