About Me

Last year, a dear friend died and I inherited several of her 'Hitty' dolls. Who needed a roof over their heads. You can guess the rest...

I bought them 'The Cabin' kit from the Dolls' House Emporium. However, whilst researching tips and tricks for building my first kit, I stumbled on photos of old Triang houses and you can guess the rest there, as well!

Have just started my first 'renovation' - an enthusiastically overpainted Triang 61.  And waiting for an interesting 1940s' homemade dolls' house to arrive, from my eBay adventures.

I'm a writer with an interest in textiles and craft history, folklore and genealogy. I write for various US and UK magazines.

Hi, Mehitabel - welcome to this incredible dolls' house site - I am relatively new to it myself! The Lines Bros/Triang houses are my personal favourites - way above all the spectacular new dolls' houses of today. You will enjoy and remember always your first Triang - but I'll bet that you will fall under the spell, like so many of us, and want to buy other houses to restore in this genre. Enjoy this wonderful hobby. PS: How lovely that your dear friend left you her treasured 'Hitty' dolls.
