The naughty girls had found the case of wine.

Rose observed the small girls. "Up to mischief - I know that look" she thought.

Oscar was attempting to be polite to his mother, Edith, but she really was an impossible old lady.

"I feel SICK!" wailed Elizabeth. Sophie looked utterly shocked, how could the girls have behaved so badly!

Bryan observed Abigail closely - "This one seems to be alright" he said cheerfully.

Edith finally discovered her hapless prey.

The presentations were made in the Temple of Love, Sir Thomas' latest extravagance.

Marianne managed a tremulous little speech - she was overcome with the beautiful sculpture that Thomas had presented to her, to show his undying affection.

And now the sun was well away from mid-day so nearly time for the dancing to commence.

Tea time!!! And off they go to scoff the cakes.

"Now feet off that cushion, young lady" reprimanded a flustered mother.

The tiny Kamanga children were enchanted by the fountain.

Rabbie was missing his wee wife but with his excellent manners, was talking to an elderly lady who seemed to be on her own.

"You shouldn't be here in those hot hats and coats! Whatever were your mothers thinking of, sending you out dressed like this?"

As the day wore on, all were eager to start the dancing.

Despite the bad floor, the Conservatory looked elegant.

A little post script here. A few days later Thomas was standing in the conservatory, which was looking more like it's usual self.

The Sweetpeas were indeed getting over their initial shyness in the company of other children.
