Cestina, you need to put a space before the https:     Like this

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017/oct/11/quick-read-tiny-book-that-inspired-virginia-woolf-to-be-published-vita-sackville-west

That should work!

Excellent, thanks Sue. But that still doesn't explain why it doesn't work when I try to write "https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017/oct/11/quick-reatiny-book-that-inspired-virginia-woolf-to-be-published-vita-sackville-west" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Guardian article" so that clicking on that gives the link...or does it? Trying now

Nope, that didn't work.   In the preview "Guardian article" shows as a blue clickable link, when I submit then it shows the whole link.   I've been having the problem for quite a while and was surprised when my signature worked the last time, which it hadn't been doing.

Anyway, thanks to Sue you can all get to the article now!

Hmm, odd, I copied it directly from the article. Okay, one last time! https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017/oct/11/quick-read-tiny-book-that-inspired-virginia-woolf-to-be-published-vita-sackville-west" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Guardian article

I give up!

Thank you, Cestina and Sue for persevering! The article makes very interesting reading. I wonder if Rosemary's Virginia has the same book in her miniature collection in Thursley House!

Virginia is overly protective of her books and will not allow anyone near them - since careless young Quentin left a slice of toast and marmalade in one as a bookmarker.....

I can't say that I blame her! I stopped lending books years ago, because too many were abused or not returned by the borrowers - people I thought I could trust, at the time.

Fascinating article - thank you for bringing it to our attention, Gil. [Sue's link works, but not yours - bizarre].
